Are you visiting the Island in July? Stuck
for things to do? Well, we have you covered! In our latest post we give you an
overview of what will be happening on the Island this month so you won’t miss a
thing!
July 3rd and 4th: Chiles Group Firework Extravaganza
July 4th is American
Independence Day, and you know what that means: we like to make things explode!
That’s why there is not one but two nights
of fireworks brought to you by the Chiles Restaurant Group. On Thursday, July
3rd, the Beachhouse will hold its 21st Annual Fireworks Extravaganza. This
newly-renovated dining room provides the perfect venue to watch a fireworks
spectacular sparkle and pop over the Gulf of Mexico.
If you’re feeling extra fancy, you can
always book a VIP Party Package which provides front row seating under a
special tent on the deck featuring a buffet of appetizers, entrees, and decadent
desserts. The VIP package also includes entertainment by DJ John Rinell,
dancing, party favors, specialty cocktails, select beer and wine and
complimentary valet parking.
Book your VIP party packages by contacting
941-779-2222 or srhoton@chilesgroup.com. All other
seating is on a first come, first served basis, so be sure to arrive early to
this popular event.
The Grand Finale of the Fireworks
Extravaganza is at the Sandbar Restaurant on Friday, July 4th. This is the 28th Annual
Sandbar Fireworks Spectacular.
Tickets for a VIP Party under the open air
Sandbar Event Pavilion are $125 each: this includes a delicious upscale buffet,
complimentary Sandbar specialty drinks, beer and wine, party favors, music plus
a great spot for the fireworks. There are a limited number of tickets available
so be sure to book early.
Meanwhile, regular restaurant seating is on
a first come, first served basis. Valet parking is also available for
restaurant patrons and VIP package holders. For more information and VIP table
purchase, contact Patti McKee, Special Events Director at 941-778-8709 or pmckee@chilesgroup.com.
Drum Circles
Friday nights, join a group of local
musicians as they form a drum circle on the beach by the Anna Maria Island
Beach Café by the Manatee Public Beach. You can bring your own percussion instrument
along and join in, dance to the music, or just sit in the sand and enjoy the
show. The drum circle kicks off about a half an hour before sunset and
stretches until about 10pm most Friday evenings.
Can’t get enough drum circles? If you’re
willing to make the trek, you can always head towards Sarasota and out to the
Siesta Key Beach Drum Circle which takes place ever Sunday evening starting
about an hour before sunset. Drummers, dancers, and music lovers welcome.
Beach Yoga
Want to spend your morning really getting
in touch with nature? Unwind with some Beach Yoga taught by Rachel
Weber. Classes are on hold now but will resume in mid-July. The donation-based
class welcomes all levels of yoga practitioners (even beginners) and takes
place every Monday and Thursday from 8:30am to 9:30am at the Manatee Public
Beach.
Love a beachside view, but not a big fan of
getting sand in your yoga pants? Try the upstairs studio at Island Yoga Space which overlooks
the Gulf of Mexico. Enjoy all the beauty of the beach without the inconvenience
of being outdoors.
If there is anything else going on that you
think we should shout about leave us a comment and let us know!
